Our house (in the middle of our street)

I haven't posted in a while, and here's the culprit, our new house! We spent most of the spring searching for the perfect place and finally found it and closed at the end of May. Its in the same neighborhood we used to live in, so we are still close to the lakes. With the help of some excellent painting and gardening assistants (thanks Colleen!) we painted the insides and got the back yard into shape before we moved in at the end of June.

The garden is our biggest project at the moment, as all the weeds seem to have woken up from the long winter just as we took possession of the house and gone crazy. We had one empty flower bed, so we filled it with shrubs and veggies and a herb garden for my cooking.
Here's the bed empty
And here's after we planted our shrubs and veggies and mulched it all to stop the demon weeds...
These are my lovely herbs, the mint should be ready for mojitos soon
And tomatoes and peppers!
