City of the Lakes Loppet

This past weekend was the City of the Lakes Loppet, so we went down to watch the events on and around the frozen lakes as the neighborhood was invaded by hordes of bundled up skiers ready to race. All our faves from last year were on again, so we headed straight for the skijoring to see the intrepid skiers and their dogs race around the lake. Then to the ice bike racing to see who would win the Men's Advanced Race.

At night, the Luminary Loppet is a ski course around the lake that is lit with ice sculpture luminaries. We bundled up and walked around the lake, watching fire-eaters and seeing the sculptures in the "Ice Forest" on lake of the isles - very pretty.
