Pond Hockey!

The best way to survive the Minnesota weather is definitely to make like Minnesotans and get outside for a wide array of winter sports. The US Pond Hockey tournament got rained out by our unseasonal weather so we were able to catch the championship round when it was finally played last Saturday on Lake Nokomis. Teams of 4 compete on a rink made right on the frozen lake. It was 14 degrees out but armed with hand warmers and toe warmers and some hot chocolate I was able to enjoy the semis and the finals and see the awarding of the Golden Shovel to the winning team. Next year, hope to see the Cherbourg Chargers enter a team!
