Old St Paul

On the first sunny day of Spring, with temps in the 50s (!), we went to explore the old part of St Paul, where well-to-do Minnesotans built mansions along the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. A lot of them are still there, including the house where F. Scott Fitzgerald, famous native of the city, grew up. We were able to get a quick tour of the James H Hill house, a huge old mansion perched on top of the hill overlooking the city, although you had to imagine the beautiful view it once had as the city has built a huge hospital complex and an ice hockey arena since then.
