With all the lakes around in the Twin Cities, its easy to overlook the river that runs through here and separates Minneapolis from St Paul. With that in mind and to check out some new bike trails, we set off this weekend to ride along the river between the two cities. Hidden Falls and Crosby Farm parks have trails that run along the Mississippi river and through woods on the banks that feel a million miles away from people, but pop out in downtown St Paul. We rode up onto the bluffs for a great view down onto the city then back along the river, finally stopping for a cool down swim in the ole Miss, where the aura of seclusion was ruined somewhat by people in a passing speedboat pulling out binoculars to watch me change into my bathers! Huck Finn never had to deal with such rudeness!

Note the new blue bike (someone stole my trusty Schwinn so I have an all new steed) and stylish picnic carrier courtesy of L&F.

The route, we mapped it at 21 miles on the trails (bike computer also courtesy of L&F)
